Whether your need is that special gift or the perfect touch for home or entertaining, Chadington’s of Provincetown, Uniquities for the Home is here to serve you. About our building: originally a Greek Revival ship captain’s house erected circa 1830 on Long Point across the harbor from Provincetown, it was barged across the harbor and set on its current foundations in the middle of the 18th century, one of Provincetown’s famous “ship houses.” At that time it acquired Victorian details such as its lovely lemonade porch and gingerbread fretwork. The house has had many incarnations as a private residence, ship chandlery, Christmas shop, kite store and more. Over the years it had deteriorated. When Rob and Gerry purchased it in 2006, they did a complete restoration and renovation, returning the house to its mid-19th century appearance. Today it is a gracious presence on Commercial Street, set back and fronted by a flagstone courtyard, shaded by a venerable chestnut tree and bordered by an English garden. Stop and visit when you’re in town!
