Painting is about learning to see. These lessons will explore experimentation with compositional elements, including patterns and colors, understanding masses, and the comprehension of the “big shapes” that make up a landscape composition. The ways in which light and shade can tell a story visually will also be explored. Each class will address specific aspects of plein air painting and lessons will compliment each other over the 4 day period. Open to all levels. Looking with a fresh eye from day to day, and creative experimentation will be tenets of the class. This workshop includes four hours of optional studio time per day.
