Film ART :: Provincetown Art Association and Museum Posted: Friday, November 14th 2008, 3:36 PM by Provincetown Blogger

Provincetown, MA: Film Art at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum will present “My Favorite Year,” a flawless spoof of the behind-the-scenes insanity at a “Your Show of Shows”-type live TV broadcast in the ’50s, on Thursday, November 20 at 7 p.m. at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, 460 Commercial Street. Comedy is all about timing, and the cast of “My Favorite Year” – Joseph Bologna in the Sid Caesar role, Mark Linn-Baker as a young writer, Lainie Kazan as his invincible mother, Adolph Green as a producer, and Peter O’Toole as a visiting movie star and raging alcoholic – make it all look blissfully easy. Working with a by Dennis Palumbo that blends nostalgia and satire in perfect measure, director Richard Benjamin expertly distills the magical chaos of creative ferment. A discussion will follow the screening. Suggested donation is $5 to the public and $3 for PAAM members. The popcorn is free. Contact: Howard Karren, at hjkarren@mac.com or 508-487-9457.
