Its time again to celebrate the Provincetown Carnival Festival: This years theme: Wild, Wild West. So get your horses ready, pack your saddle bags with your favorite Western wear and get ready for a wild, wild time in Provincetown at this years Carnival week.

August 17 – 23, 2008. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Provincetown Carnival Week. Carnival headquarters will be located at the Fire House, 258 Commercial Street, with information, tickets, t-shirt and bead sales. This year’s kick-off event is the “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” Masked Ball at the Boatslip, where the King and Queen of Carnival will be crowned and set forth to reign over Provincetown for the week. In the tradition of Carnivals past, Lea Delaria will host a show featuring performers from around Provincetown. The Carnival Parade will be held on Thursday August 21st, leaving the East End at approximately 3 p.m. and heading west down Commercial Street. Other highlights include: VIP Party at the Brass Key; Wild West Corral. The A-House presents:The Rawhide Dance Party.The Crown & Anchor presents; Marshalls and Outlaws. Lassos and Lariats Dance Party and Annie Oakley’s Karaoke at Club Purgatory; Drag Bingo and Coco Peru at the UUMH; Gold Digger’s Basket Auction and Fashion Show at Enzo's; Wild, Wild West Boat Party on the Provincetown II sponsored by Ptown Parties and Bay State Cruises; and Drag Brunch at Patio American Grill and Cocktail Bar to benefit HOW.
